The extensive City wide pathway and bike lane systems make Davis the nation’s most friendly place for walking and biking. Come and see for yourself how walking or biking in Davis can change your day and bring peace to your soul by interacting with nature in a safe and comfortable setting. The club has sponsored walks in other parts of Yolo County including the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area. We even ventured into the State of Nevada for a walk in the Ruby Mountains.

Our Year Round Events

Photo of an historic marker

At 5th and B streets in Davis you will find this historic marker originally installed nearby in 1928 by the Lincoln Highway Association with help from the Boy Scouts. It's on the Davis- University walk where you can also enjoy the Farmers Market (seen here in the back ground) on Wednesday afternoons in the summer and Saturday mornings all year.

Photo of the UCD Arboretum

When walking the Davis-University walk you can stop awhile and enjoy the beauty of the UCD Arboretum while learning to identify plants and trees that are native to the Central Valley.

Photo of an artistic structure

Art in Public Places has been a theme in Davis for over 30 years. This structure, on the Southeast Davis walk, features hieroglyphic like markings found in caves brought into the light by an artist as part of a structure that separates bikers and pedestrians from motor vehicle travel.

Photo of the pedestrian/bike bridge over I-80

Both the Southeast Davis walk and the 28K Circle Davis Tour bike route utilize this bridge over I-80 and the railroad to tie together the extensive greenbelt systems.

New in 2011 is the South Davis/El Macero Walk.
