California Volkssport Association (CVA) Home Page

We are a non-profit association of 18 walking clubs located in California. We are all nationally associated with the American Volkssport Association (AVA) and internationally with the International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV). Although individuals cannot become members of the CVA, we encourage you to join a local club.

The majority of events are walks, but there are also bicycle rides, cross-county ski events, and swimming events. All events are non-competitive and self paced.. The motto of the AVA is "Fun, Fitness, and Friendship" which pretty much says it all. All events must meet standards set by AVA and the IVV for safety and other factors.

CVA 2012

The 2012 Convention, May 4th, 5th, and 6th

The 2012 convention will be held at Asilomar on the Monterey Peninsular. It will be hosted by the South Bay Striders. The pre-registration web site is active at www.sbstriders.org and contains all information. You will find a video, travel information, pre-registration for walks and rooms, the schedule, and a place to volunteer to help. It will be wonderful.
